A Grim Reaper's Duty

Death is a natural process

A new life formed each day

Can easily fade away

To some, death may cause stress

This cycle of life can be very daunting

The implications are quite haunting

For every life that exists, another has to fade

Matter can’t be created nor destroyed

It can only be transformed

Life is composed of matter therefore it follows the same rules.

When a living being dies, its excess energy is there for the taking,

This excess energy is going to serve as food for the nearby ecosystem,

Fresh energy that can help them grow, thrive, survive

Now it’s a battle for whom can get the nutrients first.

A plant, an insect or an animal,

Who will succeed?

The continuous cycle of energy creates a sort of balance in the world,

And as a grim reaper it is my duty to uphold this balance nature has bestowed upon the world.

Why? Because without balance, to many living beings acquire to much energy for themselves leaving the others to die and in turn also giving up their energy to them.

But what happens when you have too much energy?

Certainly a human’s body was not designed to withstand such a vast force.

Matter can’t be created nor destroyed,

It can only be transformed,

And it will be transformed into anew.

Blood or mud,
